Dr. Jonathan M. Klein is a professor of pediatrics-neonatology at the University of Iowa and the Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. His passion for clinical excellence and optimization of healthcare has made the NICU at the University of Iowa a recognized leader in the care of extremely premature infants with survival rates at the limits of viability that are tenfold higher than the national average.
Dr. Klein’s research interests include high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, surfactant replacement therapy, persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, sex-specific differences in lung development, and the effects of epidermal growth factor on lung development.
